In 1975, the World Conference of the International Women's Year adopted the "Declaration of Mexico on the Equality of Women and Their Contribution to Development and Peace": a world plan of action for implementation of the objectives of the International Women's Year; regional plans of action; and a great number of decisions on concrete problems. In the Mexico Declaration members of the United Nations affirmed their faith in the objectives of the International Women's Year: equality, development, and peace.
